In an ongoing effort to provide quality wireless service, Verizon Wireless has identified your community as one that will benefit from improved network coverage. 

Milestone Communications is proposing a wireless telecommunications facility at Chancellor Baptist 

Address: 11324 Gordon Road, Fredericksburg, VA 22407

The proposal is for a 195-foot monopole and will include ground equipment required to operate the facility. 

This equipment will be located at the base of the structure in a secure fenced area. Verizon Wireless will be the first wireless carrier to locate on the proposed tower.

Community Meeting

  • Date: Wednesday, August 26th from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm.

  • Location: Salem Church Public Library, meeting room, 2607 Salem Church Rd, Fredericksburg, VA 22407

  • Agenda: Brief presentation on the proposed tower, followed by public Q&A.

Update #2: The balloon will fly Thursday 8/6 and Friday 8/7 7:30 am – 4:30 pm. 

Update #1:  Notices have gone out for the following upcoming event: 

Balloon Fly

Date: Thursday, August 6th and Friday, August 7th, from 7:30am to 4:30pm on both days.  A contingency weather reschedule date is planned for the following week August 13th and 14th, from 7:30am to 4:30 pm on both days.  (Weather updates posted by 6 PM, Wednesday, August 5th on the homepage.)

Purpose: A balloon will be flown at the proposed tower site and height to provide a visual reference. 

Photo Simulations: Photos will be taken at select location in the surrounding area and shared on the What Will It Look Like page following the balloon fly.

Please note: An informational community meeting will be scheduled after the Balloon Fly.

Our Process

1. Due Diligence 

Survey, FAA, FCC, NEPA, Phase 1

2. Land Use

Balloon Fly, Community Meeting, Special Use Permit Application, Staff Review, Planning Commission, Board of Supervisors.

3. Permitting

Submit Site Plan and Building Permit applications, Conduct Pre-Construction Meeting.

4. Construction 

Tower construction = 4-6 weeks  | Carrier construction = 4-6 weeks on average

On-site supervision by Construction Manager.

5. Site Maintenance

Review and maintain site improvements (fence, signage, etc.)
